Wednesday is my last day at work and our group health insurance stops then but our international policy does not become effective until we leave the US. Since we will be driving across the US and accidents do happen we needed to find a short term solution between policies.
I called our current group carrier about the COBRA Plan - almost $500 a month. Ouch! I did some quick internet research and was able to find a short term indemnity policy that will meet our needs and fill the gap between policies for about $4 a day. I filled out the information on line, paid by credit card and had the policy verified and they emailed the identification cards to me.
