Bars are located all over Italy, places where you can pop in for a caffé and quickly be on your way or linger with friends. One of the few places we usually do not see a bar is at the weekly mercatos that towns have, unless the mercato is in the centro storico like Ascoli Piceno’s.
We recently went to the mercato at Agropoli which is held in an area separated from the town center and the associated businesses and bars. As we were making our way through the crowds we came upon this enterprising individual who had created his own mobile bar. On top of the cart he had strapped on a small espresso machine and below the cart he had a diesel powered generator supplying the needed electricity. He was doing a rather brisk business that day.
