The comune published the population statistics for Ascoli Piceno for 2007 and the comune grew from 51,503 to 51,629 people. Not a big growth spurt! There were slightly more women than men.
The most common names for babies in 2007 were Alessandro for the boys and Aurora for the girls. Reflecting the immigrant population the comune made sure they pointed out that there was also a spattering of oriental and mid-eastern names.

We have driven through Rieti many times on our way to Roma but we have not visited there...that is something we do need to do.
